Web of Life Children’s Books publishes timeless picture books introducing children to the wonders of nature. These scientifically based books navigate the intricate interconnections between animals and their ecosystems, from the Arctic to the tropical rainforest to the coral reef. Topics covered range from keystone species to great migrations to interspecies cooperation. Stunning illustrations and lush prose immerse readers in these environments, while meticulously researched background information such as glossaries, animal identification guides, maps and calls to action are included. We also offer free, downloadable lesson plans and activities to help support teachers and enhance our books’ usefulness in the classroom.
Web of Life Children’s Books was founded by children’s book author, Madeleine Dunphy. Before founding Web of Life, Madeleine wrote picture books for Hyperion Books for Children and Millbrook Press. When her books went out of print, Madeleine decided to form her own publishing company to republish them. Since then, Web of Life has expanded to publish new books by many talented authors, illustrators and photographers. Our hope is that through these books, children will discover that all things are interconnected—and that they, too, are a part of the intricate, complex, and magnificent web of life!
